A Thoughtfully Designed New Home in Simsbury, CT
Set on a peaceful, wooded pond in Simsbury, this new home construction was designed to make the most of its surroundings. The homeowners wanted the kitchen view to be the star of the show, so the goal was to create a space that felt open, welcoming and connected to nature. Viking Design & Sales Specialist Xander Levinson teamed up with the builder, Nelson Construction, and the homeowners to bring that vision to life.
Project Details
The kitchen features Diamond Vibe Bryant cabinets with five-piece drawer fronts. A rich maritime blue was selected for the base cabinets, grounded by coconut white on the tall and upper cabinets. This soft contrast keeps the space feeling open while adding visual interest.
A custom wood hood, crafted by the builder, adds a personal touch. The kitchen is finished with Amerock’s Exceed Series hardware in satin nickel and Himalaya granite countertops from EleMar New England, offering a natural texture that ties in beautifully with the outdoor view.The home is finished off with bathrooms in Ocean blue paint, Linen paint, and Stone stain from CNC’s Elegant collection.
These vanities are finished with Allison by Amerock hardware and MSI quartz counters from our Vanity Program.Finishing the design with Richelieu transitional metal pulls in satin brass and MSI Cashmere Taj quartz countertops. The new layout and extra space allows for natural light to pour in, the family to come together, and friends to join in meals. Every detail was expertly executed, resulting in a kitchen that is both beautiful and functional.These finishes continue to the wet bar, accented with “X” mullions and glass at the wall cabinets.
Bath Details
The home also features a series of custom vanities, each styled to reflect the function and feel of the space. The primary vanity uses Siteline Libby cabinets in a warm Sandpiper stain with a brown glaze, paired again with Himalaya granite and satin nickel hardware.
The second and third vanities, powder room, laundry and basement areas each feature a mix of CNC cabinetry, high-performance quartz countertops from MSI Surfaces and Caesarstone, and a variety of finishes from the Amerock and Baer hardware collections, including polished chrome and oil-rubbed bronze.
